Track Facts
Phillip Island, on which the circuit is built, is a small island off the South Eastern corner of Australia, just south of Melbourne, Victoria. Motor racing began here in 1928 with the beginnings of the Grand Prix circuit built in 1951 by six local businessmen. It ended up in its present 2.762 mi long track in 1988 and currently hosts the Superbike World Championship and MotoGP.
