Opened in 1978, Circuit Gilles Villeneuve is located on the man-made Notre Dame Island that lies in the Saint Lawrence River in Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montreal, Quebec. At 2.71 mile long, it was originally named the Ile Notre-Dame Circuit and hosts the Canadian Formula One Grand Prix.
