Track Facts
Ferrari's privately owned race track, Pista di Fiorano, is located in Fiorano Modenese, North-West of Maranello.
The circuit was built in 1972 as a development and test track to supersede the Modena Autodrome (or Aerautodromo di Modena), when Enzo Ferrari realised that track could no longer serve the purpose.
The pista (or 'track') is currently 1.862 mi long. It started out life 1.86 mi long but then a chicane (in 1992) and a renovation of the track (1996) adjusted the overall length, up and down respectively, to where it is today. The design incorporates a large range of corner diameters so Ferrari can simulate and test different Grand Prix track layouts.
